A lady whom my father and grandfather leased farmland from was a huge supporter of the NWF, and for some odd reason took a liking to me and started subscribing to Ranger Rick in my name, a practice which continued for about four or five years afterward, at which time they started buying me subscriptions to National Geographic. The first issue I received at the ripe old age of 5 in 1979 may have been this very issue....thanks for the memories.

Too cool! I love it when memories get sparked like this. Sounds like a cool lady. Glad to see this brought back some cool thoughts.
