Blood Car 2007

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780485/

In the near future, gas prices are at an astronomical high. One man is determined to find an alternate fuel source. That alternate fuel source turns out to be blood...HUMAN BLOOD.

I got this one at my local library. No budget indie film, quirky. It has a hilarious 2nd commentary track that is an over the top parody of pompous jackass film critics.

Two-Lane Blacktop is the only classic 1970’s car-related exploitation flick not already on your list.

For my money, the greatest driving video game is Burnout 3 for PS2. the driving is easy, and the crashes are awesome. PS3 version makes you go through a boring driving around sequence to select mode instead of a simple menu that lets you go straight to “Road Rage,” and the skill level is higher – not as good for kids or lousy drivers like me.

Movies:

Early MST3K entry "The Last Chase" featuring Lee Majors, Burgess Meredith, and Chris Makepeace with a score by Gil Melle. Race car versus fighter jet? ...Seriously?

If you want to expand to any sort of road vehicle, the Mad Max ripoff "Battletruck" and "Damnation Alley" with its famed Roadmaster are fair-to-good bets, especially for the bad-movie buff.

"The Big Bus," the pre-"Airplane!" disaster spoof about a luxury mega-vehicle, might be stretching the definition a little.

"The Cars That Ate Paris," maybe? Not really for the kids.

You mentioned Ed Roth, which is funny because I'm getting on a nostalgia kick for Tom Daniel's and Dave Deal's funny-car art and model kits from the '70s.

Tom Daniel (who has an active web site) made great art and kits of both "normal" funny cars--he created the well-known Red Baron and Tijuana Taxi--and "deformed" caricature dragsters, such as Revell's "Snap Draggin's" series featuring Super Taxi, Hemi Semi, Roarin' Rail, Street Cleaner and others. They pop up on eBay fairly frequently and are great kits for kids IF you can score a complete one. Tom also has a toy line if you don't want the kid sniffin' glue.

Dave Deal (who passed away recently, after contributing to Pixar's "Cars" as a designer) created a similar but distinctly original line of comedy kits with BIG tires, a few of which were recently reissued: Zzzzzz-28, Tirebird, Surfer VW Van, and others. He also did military kits such as Lt. Rif Raf's Spitsfire, Weiner Moldy and his Messa-Schnitzel, Der Baron and his Funfdecker (5-wing) Fokker--as well as Swine Hunt (German desert tank) and Lucky Pierre (WWI French flyer) but those last two are VERY hard to find. Bit of a chore to paint sometimes.

Googling the names alone will cough up fansites with plenty of images.

Transformers.... cars that turn into robots... how could we have forgotten that one.. both tv & film

i purposely left out My Mother The Car cuz the car never really drove too much if at all.. mainly it just spoke and the show wasnt funny... but no disrespect to the concept , which they did better later on with Knight Rider anyhoo.... i just really didnt think Thor would keep interest in MMTC for more than a minute....

lotta car & boat stuff in the Indiana Jones films too....

More movies:
Funny Car Summer.
Corvette Summer.
The Van (1977) - probably not for kids.
The Big Bus.
Supervan.
And although it's not really a car movie, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention On Any Sunday, a Steve McQueen movie about motocross, not to be confused with the stupid football movie Any Given Sunday.

Let's not forget Gerry Anderson's UFO, and just about any Gerry Anderson Supermarionation series (Supercar, Thunderbirds, etc.) Straker & Foster's cars were my faves as a kid.

For sports-car-as-time-machine, Back to the Future.

For a virtual-reality car chase, The Matrix Reloaded.

For a car-turned-submarine, The Spy Who Loved Me (I know you mentioned Bond films, but this one is worth singling out!)

And what about the 1966 Batmobile from the Adam West's campy TV show?

I also love the Deloris, the car that appeared in the trilogy of "Back to the Future".

Those two cars beat them all!!!
