I remember both the comics because Marvel had a kids line out for a while that also included Muppet Babies and some sort of Spiderman parody. But both Droid and Ewoks were based on Saturday morning cartoons at the time if I remember right.

You remember right! The line was called Star Comics. There were a couple of other cool title like Planet Terry and Wally the Wizard. Ok, I say cool but I was around 14 when I was reading them :)
The parody book was Peter Porker, Spectacular Spider-Ham. At least that one should still be awesome today.
