Hey Dave, it looks good, nice job!
Creature from the Black Lagoon has always been one of my favorite monster movies since watching it on TV when I was a kid. I've never read this comic
before, it's amazing that they would make up a whole new story that has little to do with the movie. Thanks a lot.

A fine job (and an odd book, as Mark pointed out)!

My only advice--and they're strictly nitpicks--would be:

(1) Don't be afraid to crop the image aggressively if there's a lot of margin on each page (as was the case here). Photoshop is fine of course, if you have it, but GIMP 2.0 does it too and doesn't cost anything.

(2) Comics and magazines LOVE to move when you're closing the lid, don't they? There's a nice little rotate-scan widget available here.(3) My antique image viewer doesn't compensate for number "padding," so it runs the images in this order: 1, 10~19, 2, 20~29, 3, 30~33, 4~9. If you prefix first nine pages with zeroes, it'll save donks like me a bit of time. (I use Bulk Rename Utility to fix such files quickly.)

(4) Likewise, it's arguably better to name this "Creature, The" instead of "The Creature." Having "the" out front just creates a sublist that can be a pain if you have a lot of files. Personally, I like to name 'em like this example: "[Dell] Creature, The 1 (Sparkman-Dave)"

Thanks for all your work!!

Thanks for this! It's a gloriously awful adaptation and a lot of fun. Nice cover too.

I prefer to remain anomalous...

I have preference for different naming conventions than BillyWitchDoctor (somewhat different for English language and Spanish language)but won't make any suggestions except look at how others do naming for some guidance, don't be shy about changing if you decide how you start doing it isn't the best way. I fibbed, I do suggest using at least 3 digit issue numbers and 4 digit numbers for anything with more than 999 issues or heading in that direction. E.g., Popular Commic 0001, Popular Comic 1013.

Cathy is a pretty good freeware cataloger. I'm sure you can find a link at this site http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/. Lots of good stuff there.

I definitely agree about starting page/image numbers with 0 (or 00 if more than 99).

A lot of people seem to think GIMP has great abilities but is not suited for human use. If you try it and find it overwhelming, you'll have plenty of company. Paint Shop Pro 4.12 has been recommended to me and can be found at http://www.oldversion.com/. 4.12 is the last version that remains fully functional after 30 days. IMO 30 days is not likely to be long enough to decide whether to buy a program like this. Irfanview can be used for fine rotation though maybe the recommended widget will do the job better at scanning time for things like lining up comic pages--I'm going to check it out after I post this comment. Then download the comic as my movie has finished downloading.

Old piles of good sh... stuff
