Just one question: Are these scans the same that can be available Trough E-Mule or Comicsworld? I just ask it 'cause I love this series and when downloaded it found quality wasn't quite good in some pages.
Anyway,a fantastic post and a fantastic series. I always loved it when I was a child and still lovbe it. Lots of thanks.

Anon, yes image quality is a real problem on some sites. comicsworld admits that he compresses all files before he uploads them. I have found, for example, a scan that he has at a 10 MB file size elsewhere at 40 MB. So I don't download from there anymore. I just ask here if they can find better copies on here.
Even today on this site, I found two versions of the same scan by Fett, one compressed and one about twice as large. Zen and Dave don't mess with them and try to find the best quality. They will upgrade when they find something better.
Anon, these may be a mix of some of the same scans comicsworld has with some much bigger size files. The biggest files are #3 at 45MB, #5 at 33MB, #7 at 28MB, #10 at 31MB, and the Annual is 44MB. The rest average about 20MB, which appears to be about the same size as comicsworld. At least we can assume better quality scans are out there somewhere.
I try to estimate the quality of the scan before I decide to download. Below 500k a page is heading into iffy territory. 750k is nice and 1MB per page is exquisite. Don't see that high very often. Those Menace scans Zen just put up are 40MB each, which is great for a 36 page comic.
Based on the above draconian figures, a 76 page mag like Tales should be at least 38MB. Sometimes ya just gotta settle.
