I've been upgrading the labels lately and think I have finally gotten all of the animated stuff into a couple easy to use labels.
the label cartoon will now have only animated works. Not only TV and Movie cartoons but also commercials,AVGeek films and full movies. These will all be Video files available for download.
the new label cartoon related will now have all of the comics,books,cards and what not that are NOT video files.
I hope this makes it easier on folks when looking for such items. (next on the agenda is TV - look for a upgrade soon considering these posts.)

Let me put on my nerd hat for a moment.
I have always wondered about how you use the label "retro". When it is used as a noun I agree with this from thefreedictionary.com - A fashion, decor, design, or style reminiscent of things past.
According to that definition, Alan Moore's 1963 would be retro, but comics from 1963 would not be retro. They might be called vintage.
Checking out how the term is used on the net, I did find that video gamers definitely use 'retro' to just mean old, so perhaps the definition is evolving and I'm just a joyless stick in the mud.
Not a big deal at all. This is just a guy musing about his favorite comics blog.

Fair enough question and one that has evolved a bit over the last couple years. In short it would now be more like the later of your definitions- a term of reference to time. (Old) but originally it was more of the noun term. Once it crossed over to a more time reference i thought of my personally idea of retro (50s 60s) but this has evolved all the way up to the 80s now.
Honestly there is no rhyme or reason for the term anymore the blog has evolved so far since the first year when I started with the term. (It would be more work to try and remove the tag from all the posts than i am willing to try now - ha) maybe ill try and nail the definition down a bit more... I know ive used the term 'retro' rather willy nilly on posts and inconsitantly, something i need to work on. (Ill add it to the list :) )
I'm open to inputs!
