From #3, Richard (Psycho) Matheson's "Clothes Make the Man" is the kind of story I could see in an Atlas comic. The excited stranger narrates his tale of horror to an uninterested party guest and it ends with a darkly comic twist.
The two-pager "The Rocket-ship of 1955" by C.M. Kornbluth imagines a private space program run by Bernie Maddof.
Good fun stuff.

Here's a link to the first issue. It took me a couple of times to get it, even after getting a DL started.
Several well-known authors here, Wylie, Kornbluth, Fredric Brown, and Travis McGee author John D. MacDonald
