Raymond F. Jones also wrote This Island Earth, which of course was made into the famous movie. He appeared in Astounding Magazine and Thrilling Wonder Stories, among others. This book appears to be long out of print and quite a collector's item. Nice find Zen.
This was one of the so-called "juvenile" series of Winston Science Fiction books. They're very nostalgic for baby boomers.
This was the first one I ever read. I have it without the dust jacket, and I appreciate seeing what the cover looked like.

I didn't expect to be reading this one. I only get the Winston Juvenile SF that got reprinted in paperback... Too poor to be throwing money at even moderately collectable books when there's so much other stuff to read.
