Comic: Thrilling wonder Tales

Science fiction and fantasy fun abound as some of the greatest creators in the genre's heyday, the 1950's, are spotlighted in superb, full-story reprints of actual vintage stories. Start off with "Sirens From Space", drawn by Wally Wood, for Avon Comic's Strange Worlds. Kenton of Star Patrol battles 100 beautiful space women!! Then, from Charlton's Atom -Age Combat #3. March, 1959, Dick Ayers draws "Third Element". When the Cold War space race seems to end in a tie, with both Americans and Russians reaching the moon almost simultaneously, what can possibly unite the two opposing factions? Next, Joe Kubert rings in with another story taken from Avon's Strange Worlds, ( issue #8, this time ) "The Abduction of Henry Twigg". On Earth, mousy, dull little Henry Twigg couldn't get any woman to give him a second look. Who would suspect that hordes of women in the Fourth Dimension are waiting for him to lead their army. Finally, from Magazine Enterprises, Bob Powell contributes a Thun'Da story-( from issue #2 ), "The White Goddess of Kotangu". When a shipwrecked woman is drugged and used as the pawn of a native shaman, only Thun'Da can hope to save her. Color cover by Wally Wood, interiors are black and white with graytones.
