This is an example of the utter disdain comic publishers could have for the stories they published and their fans.

This comic is mostly bound copies of coverless comics. In this copy these are

Jo-Jo #20
Western Thrillers #2
Phantom Lady #19
Famous Crimes #3

The comic also begins with three western story reprints.

Fox used to print the first page of the first story on the inside front cover in two colors, black and red being what I remember. Since these are coverless copies, that means the first page is missing from 4 stories in this collection.

The first reprint story does have a two tone ifc first page story, which is why they did a 16 page signature at the beginning to include it. They didn't want a blank inside front cover.

It's possible other copies of this would have different issues inside. I think EC used to do the same thing, bind unsold copies together under a new cover.
