Nah. Certainly not the first. Gil Kane used to claim he did the first one: MY NAME IS SAVAGE. Circa 1967 or so (I forget the date--but late 60s). Even he doesn't come close. There were at least two graphic novels published by a paperback company in 1950--I've forgotten the publisher. It was a failed attempt at the graphic novel format decades before it became popular.
