Music Blog: Rockabilly
Time for another reccomendation. Great music download site 'rockabilly'.
If your into Rockabilly you will want to check this place out. You'll find albums from folks like: Stray Cats, Bo Diddly, Roy Orbison , Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rev Horton Heat, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Little Richard, Fabulous Thunderbirds just to name a few. and tons of compilations (not to mention a huge amount of SUN RECORDS stuff). This site is great! only one problem - the webmasters from germany (and i dont speak german) thankfully all the post titles, artists and songs are in english - comments in german. Take a peek around and youll probably end up downloading some tunes.

Don't know what rockabilly is?Rockabilly is one of the the earliest styles of rock and roll music, and emerged in the early 1950s.The term rockabilly is a portmanteau rock from rock 'n' roll and hillbilly, the latter a reference to the country music (often called hillbilly music in the 1940s and 1950s) that contributed strongly to the style's development. Other important influences on rockabilly include western swing, blues music, boogie woogie, and jump blues. Although there are notable exceptions, its origins lie primarily in the southern United States. The influence and popularity of the style waned in the 1960s, but during the late 1970s and early 1980s, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity that has endured to the present, often within a rockabilly subculture.
