MAGAZINE: MONSTER MAHEM # 1
HERE IT IS FOLKS! A brand new E-ZINE - Just for the readers of our Blogs! Edited and created by yours truly. This rag has a lot of RARE photos, Monster cards, LOTS OF NAKED MONSTERS AND GIRLS! This issue also starts our regular features: HALL OF FAME and SLAYMATE OF THE MONTH! There are some incredible recently discovered COLOR shots of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon!" This is a loving tribute to FJA! Just think if 4E merged with Hugh Hefner. Yeah you get the picture. Please send letters, comments, death threats or anything you want to know to jabass1@verizon.net This will be a monthly (hopefully) mag and should be available here (and ONLY HERE) on the first of every month. A few movie reccomendations that can be found on the net
I thought I would toss up a couple recommendations i've recently watched (and can be found on torrent sites) Seems I only do this once every few months and there is allot of other great things ive watched inbetween - but these stand out. the content varies as far as genre but thumbs up on all of them from me.
Alice Sweet Alice - classic 70s suspese/horror- if you like scary kids give it a try and youll be surprised i think. I cant believe i missed this one till now.
the Mist - Stephen King scifi horror flick (this is actualy a really well made King film - sometimes his adaptations can be real stinkers but this is a fun flick filled with shocks and frights)
X-Men Origins Wolverine - there is a decent workprint of this film out there - Nuff said!
Afro Samurai Ressurection - if you liked the first one youll want this one too (Didnt see the first? go get it now and thank me later)
Bedtime Stories - Adam Sandler in a Disney flick - fun for the whole family - action/fantasy/adventure. (Good clean fun)
Watcher in the Woods - Disney 1980s with Betty Davis -scares and frights in a classic disney flick which doesnt get the credit it deserves in my opinion.

Comic: Weird Fantasy (EC)
This are reprints of the originals (though the reprints have been numbered starting with #1 which was originaly#13 - see below for explanation)

The bi-monthly science-fiction comic, published by Bill Gaines and edited by Al Feldstein, replaced romance comic A Moon, A Girl... Romance with the May/June 1950 issue. Although the title and format change took effect with issue 13, Gaines and Feldstein decided not to restart the numbering in order to save money on second class postage. The Post Office took note, and starting with issue #6, all the issues were numbered correctly. Because of this, "Weird Fantasy #13" could refer to either the May/June 1950 issue or the actual 13th issue of the title, published in 1952. The same confusion exists for issues #14-17, #17 being the last issue published before EC reset the numbering.
Artist/Writer Harry Harrison claims credit for originally turning Gaines on to the idea of publishing science fiction.
In 1952 EC published "Home to Stay" in Weird Fantasy 13, which was an unauthorized adaptation of two Ray Bradbury stories, "The Rocket Man" and "Kaleidoscope". After Bradbury contacted EC about this plagiarism, they reached an agreement for EC to do authorized adaptations of Bradbury's short fiction, resulting in official adaptations that appeared in future issues.
